Five Verses That Carried Me Through My Infertility Journey

These five scriptures became my lifeline during the hardest years of my journey. If you're in your own season of waiting, I'm sharing them with you. Print them. Screenshot them. Write them on your mirror. Let them speak over you on the days you can't speak for yourself.

Verse 1

Psalm 139:13-14
"For you created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

On the days my body felt like the enemy, this verse reminded me that God made me with intention. Every part of me, even the parts that weren't cooperating, was His handiwork.

Verse 2

Jeremiah 29:11-13
"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

This was my anchor. Not just verse 11, but 12 and 13. He promises to listen. He promises that when you seek Him with everything you have, you will find Him.

Verse 3

Romans 8:28
"And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

All things. Not just the good things. Not just the answered prayers. The surgeries, the failed treatments, the tears, the waiting. He works in all of it.

Verse 4

Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight."

As a Type A project manager, this verse challenged me to my core. I wanted to control the plan. God wanted me to trust the Planner.

Verse 5

2 Timothy 1:7
"For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind."

Fear was my constant companion during those years. Fear of another negative test, fear of another failed procedure, fear that it would never happen. This verse reminded me that the fear was not from God. He gave me power, love, and a sound mind, even when the journey tried to take all three.
