FOR THE WOMAN IN THE WAITING
A Letter, Verses, and Prayers For You
Everything I wish someone had handed me in the hardest years β the words, the scripture, and the prayers for the days you cannot find your own.
A Letter to You
A Letter to the woman struggling with infertility
Dear Sister,
Take a deep breath. Thank God for your life. For your journey thus far. Thank God for every decision, every mistake, every thought that brought you where you are today. I know the last thing a woman seeking the fruit of the womb wants to hear is to just relax, it will happen. So I won't say that. I know the sting of those words because I heard them too, while I was walking out of doctor's offices, recovering from surgeries, and crying on my bathroom floor. Instead, I will tell you what I needed to hear when I was in a similar position.
Look to God. He sees all and He knows all. His name is El Roi, the God who sees me, and He sees you right now. He will guide you in every single step and in every single emotion. He may or may not answer your prayers the same way you envisioned it but He will indeed answer your prayers. Have faith that His plans are better than yours. You have seen His works numerous times and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Let God have it. Tell Him exactly how you feel. He wants to hear from you. Yell, scream, remind Him of His promises to you. He wants you to give Him all your worries and cares. He has you completely. It's okay to be angry at Him and still love Him. It's okay to skip the baby shower. It's okay to whisper "How long, Lord?" for the thousandth time and wonder if He's listening. He is. Let Him have it.
I love you.

Five Verses That Carried Me Through My Infertility Journey
These five scriptures became my lifeline during the hardest years of my journey. If you're in your own season of waiting, I'm sharing them with you. Print them. Screenshot them. Write them on your mirror. Let them speak over you on the days you can't speak for yourself.
01
Verse One
Psalm 139:13-14
"For you created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
On the days my body felt like the enemy, this verse reminded me that God made me with intention. Every part of me, even the parts that weren't cooperating, was His handiwork.
02
Verse Two
Jeremiah 29:11-13
"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
This was my anchor. Not just verse 11, but 12 and 13. He promises to listen. He promises that when you seek Him with everything you have, you will find Him.
03
Verse THREE
Romans 8:28
"And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
All things. Not just the good things. Not just the answered prayers. The surgeries, the failed treatments, the tears, the waiting. He works in all of it.
04
VERSE FOUR
Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight."
As a Type A project manager, this verse challenged me to my core. I wanted to control the plan. God wanted me to trust the Planner.
05
VERSE FIVE
2 Timothy 1:7
"For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind."
Fear was my constant companion during those years. Fear of another negative test, fear of another failed procedure, fear that it would never happen. This verse reminded me that the fear was not from God. He gave me power, love, and a sound mind, even when the journey tried to take all three.
Prayers
Short Prayers for the
Hard Moments
There are moments in the infertility journey when you need a prayer but don't have the words. These are for those moments. They are short because sometimes that's all you have. They are honest because God doesn't need you to perform. Use them as they are, or let them be the starting point for your own conversation with God. He hears every word. Even the ones you can't say out loud.
01
Prayer
A Prayer Before Your Doctor's Appointment
Dear Lord, I leave this appointment in Your hands. May the doctor's office staff have the empathy to make this appointment as seamless as possible. God, I'm walking into this room carrying more weight than the person at the front desk will ever know. Calm my heart. Steady my hands. Quiet the fear that's already bracing for bad news. No matter what the physicians have to say, go ahead of me and deal with it all. Whatever I hear today, remind me that the doctor's report is not Your final word. Give me the courage to ask the questions I need to ask and the grace to receive what I need to receive. Walk into that room with me. I don't want to do this alone. Amen.
02
Prayer
A Prayer When Your Period Shows Up
God, it happened again. Another month. Another no. I am tired of my period constantly showing up. Your word says to be fruitful and multiply, and my husband and I are trying to do just that. We are ready, Lord. I don't have a brave prayer today. I just have tears and disappointment and the familiar ache of wanting something so deeply and watching it not happen again. Hold me in this moment. Don't let the enemy turn this disappointment into despair. This cycle may have ended, but my story hasn't. Thank You that You are preparing my body and my home for our baby. We will wait on You, Lord. Amen.
03
Prayer
A Prayer When You're Hurting
God, it still has not happened. Why have You forsaken me? Help me, Lord. Help us, Lord. The pain is loud today. Louder than my faith. Louder than the verses I've memorized. Louder than the encouragement people are trying to give me. I hurt in places I can't explain to anyone, and I'm tired of pretending I'm fine. You said You are close to the brokenhearted. Be close to me right now. I'm not asking for answers today. I'm just asking You to sit with me in this. Don't leave me. Amen.
04
Prayer
A Prayer When a Friend Announces a Pregnancy
God, I want to be happy for her. Part of me is. But the other part of me is shattered, and I feel guilty for feeling both things at the same time. I don't want to be jealous. I don't want to be bitter. But I'm human, and this hurts. Lord, I am happy my friends have been able to conceive without any delays. I know everyone's journey is different. Help me celebrate her without punishing myself. Remind me that her blessing is not my rejection. Your love is not a limited resource. There is enough for her and for me. I tap into their blessings and know mine is coming at the appointed time. And when I get home and the smile drops and the tears come, catch them. You know my heart. Amen.
05
Prayer
A Prayer When You're Trying for a Baby
God, we're trying again. And I'm scared. Scared to hope because hope has hurt me before. Scared to plan because plans have fallen apart. Scared to believe because believing feels reckless after everything we've been through. But here we are, still trying. That has to mean something. Bless this effort. Cover it with Your grace. And whatever the outcome, hold us steady. We're not just trying for a baby. We're trying to trust You. Meet us in that. Dear Lord, may Your will be done. Amen.
Declaring Gods Favor
by Jerry Savelle
In the name of Jesus I am the righteousness of God and Gods Favor surrounds the righteous. It surrounds me. Itβs all over me. It goes before me. I can depend upon it everyday of my life.
I decree out of my mouth that the Favor of God is opening doors that no man can shut. The Favor of God is changing things that even look impossible.
The Favor of God is working on my behalf. Thank You, Father, in advance for all the turnarounds, all the miracles and all the breakthroughs that are coming my way
because I have Favor with You.
